PROJECT 03

Project three addresses the growing need for habitable homeless shelters. According to an article from KPCC, thousands of unhoused residents prefer living on the streets to staying in a shelter, due to the poor living conditions at these facilities, from rats, fleas, and bedbugs to harassment, robberies, and assault.

 

​Humans should not have to choose between the streets or being assaulted. Starting in the Fall of 2023, Green City LA will work with shelters to meet the living standards these people deserve. The goal is to hire full-time staff to care for the shelters to meet basic hygiene and environmental standards. 

 

Green City LA will provide the necessary equipment, human resources, and networking so that the Los Angeles shelters will become inviting places for those in need.
